St John’s is a small family church in Greenlands, one of the estates in Redditch. They
have just employed a new Lay Pastor, Gary Noyes, to develop mission and
outreach in the local area, especially the estate of Woodrow.
The youth group at St. John’s is called Jump and has grown considerably since employing Stu Avis as
full-time youth worker in 2002.
Jump meets at 7.30 every Wednesday evening during term time and while the
evenings are aimed at Christians, all are welcome as they have three teaching
streams - one for those exploring the faith, one for young people working out
what their faith means to them, and one for those who want to go deeper.
Socials are also a regular part of the program. Jump is peer-led and young
people play a core role in the leadership and direction of the youth work.
In addition to Jump, the Engage worker is also developing a mentoring program
with some young people.
Jump:
seeing young people transformed
through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
